Hello! Sorry for such a delay in updates. Wanted to make sure everything was as concrete as possible before passing it along.
First note: earmuffs are finished! Here are some additional pics.
They do not have extra padding inside them. They are primarily for fashion, though they do keep my own ears warm during the cold and my ears are incredibly sensitive, so I'm hopeful they will suffice. I am realizing now that I did not explicitly note that before - which I apologize for. They're not cold or thin, they're just not with an extra layer. It would have been kind of awkward to figure that out without having crinkling or deformities when cleaning it, but if I get these remade later or another earmuff design produced, I will discuss at length with them the options for having some sort of compressed inner layer that will not shed to become lumpy.
The next update:
Everyone remaining will need to be prepared to be charged on backerkit in the first half of January. I don't have a concrete date yet, but I promised wholeheartedly to keep people updated ahead of charges, so I want to let you know that's their rough estimate of when the sweaters will be finished too (and just in time for CNY, thankfully).
Because of all the delays, the timeline and charge dates have been a bit skewed... There also is a huge snafu with the extra packaging I needed to order... Hero Packaging had a massive 80% off warehouse clearout sale I missed 🫠since I wasn't planning on getting the new garment bags and large mailers until after I'd done this last charge, so I wasn't keeping an eye out and was accidentally subscribed only to their Aus newsletter. I've been informed they are switching to a new US warehouse but have had some delays, and I'm hoping they will update me soon that they've successfully relocated and reopened their US stock, because I have to buy all of that ahead of these arriving to me if I want to be able to turn around and ship them out immediately to you upon arrival.
Tl;dr (sorry I'm so long-winded!): It's now nearly mid-December, and because production was delayed, they likely won't ship to me for another month. However, I will still need to charge everyone their remaining backerkit charges as soon as they do, because I have to buy the extra-large packaging supplies needed that I don't already have. Buying them as soon as they head to me rather than charging once they've arrived allows me to streamline the process of getting them to you.Â
So here is the new - and highly-likely final - timeline update:Â
Mid-Jan: Final charges -> Mid-Feb: Arrival to my house -> Late Feb: Shipping out to you. Â Hopefully the sea freight is actually pretty quick and they show up earlier than that, imagine they show up when it's warm again in most places?! That would be so sad. I'll do my best.
So... this is my first formal notice to expect to be charged in roughly 30 days! I will update once or twice more via kickstarter direct message (depending on the speed things continue), and post a final update 48hrs before cards will be charged definitively.
